ESL Shipping has improved its rating in EcoVadis sustainability assessment from Silver to Gold, which places the company among the top 5% of companies in the same industry assessed by Ecovadis.
In environmental matters, the company ranked among the top 6% of rated companies in the same industry with a score 80/100. During the past year, the company has worked hard to improve its performance based on the results of the first Ecovadis assessment completed in 2022.
”Our whole organisation is committed to improving our sustainability performance and this result demonstrates the great work done by our people during the past year. It is also delightful to notice our clients are increasingly interested in our overall sustainability performance”, said Operations & Environmental Director Kirsi Ylärinne.
EcoVadis is the world’s largest provider of business sustainability ratings with over 100 000 rated companies. The comprehensive assessment considers environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement thus providing a comprehensive picture of a company’s sustainability performance.
