Diana Shipping Inc. announces time charter contract

Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specialising in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, has recently announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has entered into a time charter contract with SwissMarine Pte Ltd, Singapore, for one of its post-panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Amphitrite.
The gross charter rate is US$10 250/d, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of approximately 13 months to maximum 15 months. The charter commenced on 21 March 2020.
The ‘Amphitrite’ is a 98 697 DWT post-panamax dry bulk vessel built in 2012.
This employment is anticipated to generate approximately US$3.84 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.
The company’s fleet currently consists of 41 dry bulk vessels. The current combined carrying capacity of the fleet is approximately 5.1 million DWT, with a weighted average age of 9.52 years.
