Each bulk carrier is reported to cost approximately US$33.50 million.
Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers has confirmed that five carriers will be constructed; there are options in place for an additional four carriers, though nothing has been agreed yet.
This shipbuilding contract will support the company in its expansion into the pulp transportation market.
The vessels will be delivered from 2020 onwards.
