The Port of Corpus Christi has announced three organisational appointments.

Firstly, the Port of Corpus Christi has appointed Jeff Pollack as its first Chief Strategy Officer. Pollack, who specialises in coastal community land use and resiliency, joined the Port’s leadership team in 2018 as Director of Planning, a newly created position overseeing all strategic planning, master planning, land use planning, GIS, and federal and state grant administration.

As Chief Strategy Officer for the Port of Corpus Christi, Pollack will oversee all planning functions, as well as all environmental programs. With the continued and growing focus on environmental impacts from port operations and development, the Environmental Planning and Compliance department will now report to Pollack as well. The synthesis of the two entities underscores the Port’s commitment to proactive, data-driven planning as well as continuing to undertake strategic environmental initiatives well beyond regulatory compliance.

“As a coastal gateway, there is an environmental dimension to all that we do, and this reorganisation helps to centralise environmental considerations at the core of our decision-making process,” said Pollack.

“The continued evolution of our organisational culture and alignment is necessary to keep pace with the extraordinary growth the Port of Corpus Christi continues to experience. With the large investments in the region by industry, increased demands on supporting infrastructure requires a world-class organisation, and Jeff and the rest of the Port of Corpus Christi executive team have demonstrated their acumen and ability to rise to the occasion,” said Sean Strawbridge, Chief Executive Officer for the Port of Corpus Christi.

In addition to the appointment of Pollack, the Port of Corpus Christi has named Lisa Hinojosa as its Director of Communications. Formerly the Manager of Communications, Hinojosa will continue to develop pathways for consistently developing and sharing information while further promoting the Port of Corpus Christi gateway for the global energy marketplace.

Leslie Ruta has also been named Strategic Planning Manager for the port. Leslie has been overseeing grant development and administration for the Port of Corpus Christi since 2018, a role which requires significant interaction with Federal and State Agencies, such as the Texas Department of Transportation, FEMA, and the US Department of Transportation. The agencies are responsible for infrastructure, environmental, and security grant programs. Leslie will continue her grant responsibilities along with the additional responsibilities of early stage economic development opportunity analysis and strategic planning initiatives.
