Longship has announced the delivery of Longera, marking significant progress in the company’s ongoing commitment to modernising its fleet for a sustainable future and offering new opportunities for its customers.

On 25 June, the Longera was officially delivered by Atlas Shipyard. Its delivery marks the culmination of three years of research, development, and hard work and stands as a testament to the dedication of the team and Longship’s partners. Longera is the first of a series of four 8600 DWT newbuildings that have been ordered at Atlas Shipyard based in Türkiye. The hull design and diesel-electric propulsion system has been created with the goal of delivering an ultra-low fuel consumption.

As the company celebrated this milestone, it has already begun looking forward to its next project and continuous improvements for more environmentally friendly shipping. The company has extended its gratitude to the Longship team, both ashore and at sea, and its partners and business relations, whose confidence and continuing commitment have made these achievements possible.

Longera is currently underway for its maiden voyage, loaded with windmill blades. Longship highlighted that this voyage signifies not only the beginning of Longera’s operational existence but also the beginning of a new era for the firm in modernising the fleet to ensure a sustainable future.
