Bocimar has sold two 205 000 DWT, 12-year-old newcastlemaxes, the Mineral Charlie and Mineral Maureen. Brokers suggested the deal went for US$81.6 million, the highest price achieved in 2024 for this age and sized ship.

The sale is part of Bocimar’s ongoing fleet renewal programme. The Agila Subic Shipyard-built ships will be replaced as the company awaits a string of 210 000 DWT newbuildings, all with ammonia-fuelled engines.

Bocimar started 2024 offloading a modern newcastlemax to Winning Shipping, who had to pay roughly US$55 million for the three year old 206 000 DWT Mineral Qingdao.
