Franbo Lines signs for ultramax newbuilds

Taiwanese bulker owner Franbo Lines has ordered its first ships in China in a deal with Jiangsu Haitong Offshore Engineering Equipment.
The company has booked four ultramaxes for an undisclosed sum and early delivery in 2025.
Franbo Lines has expected the first 63 500 DWT ship for delivery in May 2025 with the remaining three bulkers delivering through to November the same year as the majority of shipyards have slots booked until 2027.
The company, with a history of ordering ships in Japan, currently has 18 bulkers and two more scheduled for delivery from Hakodate Dock.
