Lemissoler signs up for eight methanol dual-fuelled ultramaxes

Lemissoler Navigation has ordered eight methanol dual-fuel ultramaxes at Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding in Guangzhou, China.
The deal covers four 65 000 DWT units estimated to cost more than US$40 million each, with options for four additional vessels.
Philippos Philis-led Lemissoler first showcased the methanol-fuelled ultramax developed in partnership with Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI) and ABS in December 2023.
Founded in 1996 in Limassol, the company has a fleet of 12 eco supramax and ultramax bulkers built between 2015 and 2020. The latest order is its first since 2017.
