CMA CGM’s Chinese port operations hampered by typhoons

CMA CGM, the French shipping company, has said in a statement that its services may ‘undergo some adjustments’ and terminal admission times may be changed, as a result of typhoons affecting Asia, in particular China.

According to the statement, the typhoons are creating ‘very challenging’ conditions and could hinder port operations, but the company has said it is trying to minimise disruption and will keep interested parties informed of any changes.

Engine retrofits to reduce emissions on two bulk carriers

Technology group Wärtsilä will upgrade the Wärtsilä RT-flex main engines on two bulk carrier vessels owned by Turkey-based Ulusoy Sealines. The planned engine retrofits and upgrades will extend the vessels’ operational life and improve performance and fuel efficiency, thereby reducing emissions. The orders were booked by Wärtsilä in 4Q24 and 1Q25.
