Atlantska Plovidba signs for ultramax newbuilds

Croatian bulker owner and operator Atlantska Plovidba has signed an agreement with Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry in China for the construction of two ultramaxes.
The Zagreb-listed outfit, the majority of which is owned by Zadar-based peer Tankerska Plovidba, has paid approximately US$65 million for the 53 500 DWT pair of bulkers designed to meet IMO Tier III and EEDI Phase 3 requirements.
Atlantska, which has been managing a fleet of 11 bulkers, will see its first ultramax newbuilds delivered in 2026.
