In 2021, the Novotrans Group of Companies continues to work actively as part of the implementation of the strategy to expand the range of transported goods and enlarge the loading range of its own rolling stock. In addition to the West Siberian railway, a significant share of shipments is now carried out on the Moscow, South-East, South Ural, and other highways in Russia. Compared to the period before the pandemic, the holding has tripled the loading of metallurgical and construction cargo.

The diversification carried out by the holding is also aimed at ensuring the future cargo base of the LUGAPORT terminal, which the holding is building in the seaport of Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region, Russia. The diversified transport and logistics complex will be designed for transshipment of bulk, general, grain, and food cargo with a total volume of more than 24.3 million tpy. The terminal will be commissioned at the end of 2024.

“To ensure the loading of the transshipment capacities of the future LUGAPORT terminal, we are systematically working to expand the pool of shippers and establish long-term co-operation in organising export transshipment of Russian products. To date, we have concluded a number of agreements of intent with industrial and agricultural enterprises, commodity concerns, as well as with the heads of several regions, which allow us to talk about a guaranteed terminal load of more than 80%. For our partners, we will provide the opportunity to transship the widest range of cargoes, as well as the highest service and the best transshipment conditions in the Russian port”, said Konstantin Goncharov, President of the Novotrans Group of Companies.
