Bedeschi awarded for supporting green energy transition

The plant was developed and built during the pandemic period and despite the adversity and several limitations Bedeschi has been able to complete and start up the project. The plant has been handed over and has been in operation since March 2022.

The scope of supply consisted of full mechanical/electrical and civil supply, fabrication erection and commissioning of iron ore pellet handling and screening systems. The system consisted of about 1.5 km of conveyors with a capacity of up to 1.550 million tph, two screening towers with a screening capacity of up to 1.550 million tph of iron ore pellets, fines separation before feeding the DRI plant as well as a rail mounted ship loader. The ship loader supplied by Bedeschi has a boom length of 50 m and has a loading capacity of 2400 tph.

Its task will be to load deep-sea vessels with hot briquetted iron (HBI). Unique to its construction is its ability to use a special spiral system, in order to minimise the HBI breakages and to reduce dust emissions during the loading process to an absolute minimum. The entire system also has the capacity of storing and reintroducing the fines with a dosing system into the circuit in order to reduce the amount of waste material. The system is equipped with covered storage system for the fines fractions, all designed and fabricated by Bedeschi.
