For the intake and transfer of raw materials and by-products throughout the steel works and associated plant, the SAMSON range of equipment provides a flexible alternative to conventional deep pits and hoppers receiving material direct from tipping trucks.
Any application within a steel works requires robust and reliable machinery able to operate continuously 24 hr/d and most of all reliably under the most arduous working conditions handling aggressive materials. The Samson® Material Feeder Series have proven very effective under these conditions in many differing applications handling light coke through to iron ore at rates up to 2000 tph.
The Samson Material Feeder is effective in conveying a wide variety of material characteristics from wet and sticky to dry and dusty. Cohesive iron ore fines with high moisture content can be handled reliably without risk of bridging or blockage. Other materials regularly conveyed include (BOS) slag, crushed metal fines, mixed ores, flue dust and mill scale and the equipment is designed with relevant dust extraction and containment measures.
The STORMAJOR® combines a mobile truck unloader with a movable boom. This versatile unit allows the steel works to receive bulk materials directly from trucks, front end loaders or other loading equipment and discharge the materials to high level conveyors or feed systems. This multi-purpose equipment is also used for stockpiling and vessel loading.
