SAGO issues tender to import wheat

Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO) has announced that it has issued the seventh tender for this year to import 535 000 t of wheat to be supplied during May - July 2022.
His Excellency Eng. Ahmad A. Al-Fares, Governor of SAGO stated that the quantity specified in the tender is distributed to nine shipments; twp shipments to be delivered to Jeddah Islamic Port, three shipments to be delivered to Yanbu Commercial Port and three shipments to be delivered to Jazan Port.
H.E. said that this batch of imported wheat comes within the Organization’s plan to meet the local demand from the milling companies and maintain the strategic reserve of wheat. Noting that the Organization has contracted to import 3.4 million t since the beginning of the year, in addition to purchasing 576 000 t of local wheat from eligible farmers.
