Dry Bulk,

Between May 2023 and late September the global provider of maritime transportation services Grindrod Shipping Holdings Ltd. sold four bulk carrier vessels. Both the supramax bulk carrier, IVS Hayakita, and the ultramax bulk carrier, IVS Bosch Hoek, were delivered to the new owners.

On 25 May 2023 Grindrod exercised the purchase option on the 2016-built bulk carrier, IVS Hayakita and entered into an en-bloc deal to sell the vessel alongside the 2015-built IVS Bosch Hoek for US$46.5 million (before costs). The vessels were successfully delivered to the new owners on the 19 and 25 September respectively. Approximately US$10 million debt was repaid on the company’s US$114.1 million senior credit facility.

On the 14 September Grindrod entered into a contract to sell the 2013-built handysize bulk carrier, IVS Merlion, for US$11.6 million (before costs) with delivery to her new owners planned for the 15 December 2023.

As of the 27 September Grindrod has entered into a contract to sell the 2013-built handysize bulk carrier, IVS Raffles, for US$11.6 million (before costs) with a planned delivery date of the 30 November 2023. Grindrod provides no assurances that the delivery will take place by that time or at all.
