d'Amico Group announces new CEO of Dry Cargo business unit

The d'Amico Group has announced that Mr Cesare d'Amico, CEO of d'Amico Società di Nav-igazione SpA, the holding company of the Italian ship-owner, has taken over the role of CEO of the Dry Cargo business unit operating a fleet of dry cargo vessels.
Cesare d'Amico, with extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the sector, has always been directly involved in the company's strategic decisions relating to the dry cargo business unit and currently is the ideal person to offer management continuity, also opening a new era for the progressive affirmation of the young management team that has grown in the meantime within the organisation.
It is with this in mind that Emanuele d'Amico, who is already in charge of the commercial functions of the Dry Cargo business unit, has taken the role of Managing Director, with the assignment of the overall management of the core business functions. Benjamin Wilkes has been confirmed in the role of Chief Operating Officer and Giovanni Capello in that of Chief Financial Officer.
"I will endeavour to consolidate the company's leadership position in the sector, at a stage that I think will allow us to put a period of strong uncertainty and volatility behind us. And above all, I want to put my experience at the disposal of the young managers who are already rising to positions of responsibility in our organisational structure" stated Mr. Cesare d'Amico.
In addition to being the CEO of Società di Navigazione S.p.A., Cesare d'Amico is a member of the Board of Directors of several Group companies, including the listed company d’Amico International Shipping S.A. He holds office in international organisations in the shipping sector and he is also Chairman of The Standard P&I Club and member of the Council and of the Executive Committee of Confitarma - Italian Confederation of Ship-owners, the main association in the Italian shipping industry.
The Dry Cargo business unit operates a core fleet of 50 vessels mainly in the Post Panamax/ Kamsarmax, Supramax and Handy segments, out of which 44 ships are ‘Eco’. An additional 20 vessels are chartered in the short-term and mainly operated on the spot market.
