Wisdom Marine Group has returned to Tsuneishi Group Shipbuilding Inc., with a deal for two newbuild kamsarmax bulk carriers set to be delivered in 2026.
The Taipei-based owner stated, in a stock exchange filing, that the pair of 82 400 DWT would cost up to US$80 million at US$40 million per vessel.
Tsuneishi (Zhoushan) in China had already delivered several kamsarmax newbuilding projects for Wisdom Marine. The latest deal follows an order for three units at the shipyard in June 2021 with an estimated value of US$102 million.
Wisdom Marine presently has a fleet of more than 100 bulk carriers with an average age of seven years. The company’s fleet profile is expected to further improve in the next 2 - 3 years after the delivery of 18 newbuilds that are in development.
