Bahri has revealed that it has been ranked seventh in the region in Forbes Middle East’s list of ‘10 Biggest Logistics Companies in MENA,’ consolidating its distinguished position and reputation in the maritime industry.

The ranking recognises Bahri’s emergence as a key player in the global shipping industry and its sustained growth and expansion in markets beyond the Kingdom. It is also a fitting testament to the company’s excellent performance amid uncertainties and challenging market conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Forbes Middle East considered multiple aspects of the region’s logistics businesses when compiling the list including the size of the company in terms of assets, revenues, and market value; the percentage of trade enabled by the company, and therefore its importance to the economy; and the quantity of goods transported or stored.

Commenting on the achievement, Eng. Abdullah Aldubaikhi, CEO of Bahri, said: “As the flagbearer of Saudi Arabia’s maritime sector, Bahri is always focused on the pursuit of excellence in all our logistics operations and offerings. This commitment has led us to many remarkable milestones over the past 43 years since the company’s founding. We have firmly established our logistics leadership through our outstanding track record in offering customers worldwide leading-edge solutions and our sustained business growth despite challenges. We are proud that our accomplishments have been recognised and I thank our team members for their invaluable contributions to this feat.”

The new accomplishment follows a remarkable feat that Bahri achieved in June this year when it improved its ranking on Forbes Middle East’s ‘Top 100 Companies in the Middle East’ list for 2021. The company advanced 36 spots on the list to reach its best ranking to date, reaching the 40th position, from 51 in 2020 and 76 in 2019.

Bahri offers a diverse range of onshore and offshore solutions through its five business units, oil, logistics, chemicals, dry bulk, and ship management, and two joint ventures – BahriBolloré Logistics and the National Grain Company. The company has over 3500 employees and a fleet of 89 vessels serving 150 ports worldwide.
