Denmark-based shipping company NORDEN continues to expand its global reach and local presence with the opening of a new office in Vancouver, Canada. The opening marks the most recent step in NORDEN’s efforts to move closer to customers, strengthen existing relationships and build new ones – this time on the North American West coast.
During recent years, NORDEN has increased its activities in the North American market and to support the growth ambition of NORDEN’s Dry Operator arm, the company has identified even more business potential. The new and increased presence on the West coast will strengthen NORDEN’s ability to provide customers with transport to and from the Americas and from North America to Asia and enable NORDEN to become even more competitive on local coastwise trades.
NORDEN is headquartered in Denmark with offices in Annapolis, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago, Melbourne, Shanghai, Singapore and Mumbai. The new office in Vancouver will thus become NORDEN’s 9th office.
“NORDEN has a strong presence with many port calls on the West coast. We expect the new office in Vancouver to provide a deeper service to existing customers and create new relations. Our office will consist of both operational and commercial expertise to add immediate value to our business partners, some of whom we already do multi-year business with. The office will also strengthen the growing Americas/Asia business and nicely link our 3 offices in Asia with our now 4 offices in the Americas – we utilise our scale combined with proximity to our clients to add, capture and deliver value," said NORDEN’s Head of Dry Cargo, Christian Vinther Christensen.
The office will open at the beginning of January and be headed by Mark LaFrankie, who brings with him more than 20 years of experience within shipping and customer service. LaFrankie will transfer from NORDEN’s US office in Annapolis.
