Cooper Specialised Handling is providing a cargo handling solution for NW Trading that will help the company maintain high standards of customer service while coping with increasing volumes.
A specialist in heavy lifting solutions, Cooper is supplying the privately-owned shipping and logistics business with two Mantsinen hydraulic cranes.
The first machine, a 90M, has been installed while the specification of the second crane, featuring Mantsinen’s acclaimed energy-saving HybriLift technology, is close to being finalised.
The Mantsinen 90M has gone into service at the Port of Birkenhead, which can handle vessels of up to 196 metres LOA (length overall) with a 26.5 metre beam and 8.2 metre draft. The crane is expected to process in excess of 1.25 million t of cargo, including steel, board products, fertilizers and bulks for blue chip companies operating in service and manufacturing industries.
This contract represents a major investment in a cargo handling solution that will deliver key operational benefits to meet current requirements along with the flexibility to cope with future business challenges.
