Increased demand and a continued commitment to providing customers with the most modern and efficient equipment has seen Liebherr Rental complete a £10 million, 45 machine upgrade and expansion of its UK fleet.
Liebherr Rental provides long and short-term self-drive hire solutions to customers from a wide range of sectors including construction, aggregates, waste and recycling, scrap and ports. The investment programme is in line with Liebherr Rental’s strategy of updating its fleet annually to ensure that no machine is more than three years old. This year’s investment will see the planned replacement of over 30 machines including materials handlers, loaders, excavators and dozers. The fleet will be further expanded with the addition of 15 machines, some of which are completely new models to the fleet such as the 43 tonne PR 756 and 54 t PR 766 dozers. Recently launched, these Generation 8 machines both feature the latest Stage V engine technology. Customer demand for these larger dozers has been stimulated by a number of major infrastructure projects.
As with the dozers, the three new Generation 8 additions to the excavator fleet also all boast powerful and efficient Stage V engines. Ranging from 70 t to 35 t, the R966, R945 and R934 ensure a machine is available for all applications and working environments.
Two new machine types have also been introduced into the fleet. Liebherr’s T 60-9 telehandlers are swift, nimble and strong. Renowned for their reliability and productivity, they are an ideal choice for tough working environments such as waste and scrap. The final addition is the recently launched TA 230 articulated dump truck – a machine capable of moving material efficiently in the most challenging of terrains.
Commenting on the investment, Liebherr Rental’s General Manager, Joe Palmer, said: “Despite the obvious challenges presented by the pandemic the capital and operational benefits of machine rental have resulted in a relatively buoyant market and sustained levels of demand. The expansion of our rental fleet means that an even wider range of customer can take advantage of these benefits and ensures we can offer the perfect fit for customers irrespective of their application. By providing only the most modern machines, we ensure optimal performance and operational efficiency.”
