AUMUND Group secures major order in Senegal
The Chinese company Sinoma International Engineering and the Sinoma-affiliated CBMI Construction are building a new cement plant for Les Ciments du Sahel in Senegal, which will be almost completely equipped with conveyor solutions from the AUMUND Group.
The basis for this order is reportedly the successful cooperation between AUMUND France and AUMUND China. The order includes more than 60 machines, including: 23 bucket elevators, seven apron conveyors, eleven trough chain conveyors, two Samson® conveyors, four CENTREX® silo discharge devices, and 19 silo extractors.
The machines will be used in all areas of production, from raw material discharge to transport between the clinker silo, cement mill, and packaging.
Delivery is expected to take place in several tranches between March and June 2021. Sinoma CBMI and Les Ciments du Sahel are targeting 1Q22 as the start-up date.
With the new plant in Kirène, approximately 50 km east of the Senegalese capital Dakar, Les Ciments du Sahel is expanding its daily cement production volume by 6000 tpd.
AUMUND France is responsible for customer service in the West Africa region, and AUMUND China has been working closely with the Sinoma Group for many years. Thanks to close cooperation between AUMUND France and AUMUND China and the support of AUMUND Fördertechnik, all technical requirements were met to the satisfaction of the client, even despite the difficult conditions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.
