Ag Growth International (AGI) is to buy Yargus Manufacturing, a manufacturer of fertilizer and industrial material handling equipment based in Illinois, US. Based in Manitoba, Canada, AGI is a leading supplier of grain handling, conditioning and storage equipment with a global manufacturing presence.
“The sale of Yargus Manufacturing to AGI provides both businesses immediate opportunities to expand their global footprint as to agricultural and industrial material handling equipment,” said Larry Yargus, President and majority stockholder of Yargus Manufacturing.
Yargus Manufacturing was started in 1968 as Layco, transitioning to become Yargus Manufacturing when Larry Yargus took over in 1992. The company is now owned by Yargus and his three daughters.
The Illinois-based company is recognised for its custom design and manufacturing expertise. Its product offering, sold under the brand name Layco, includes tower blender systems, batch blending systems, control systems, in-plant receiving, automated coating systems, conditioners/delumpers, performance mixers, declining weight/volumetric blend systems, and conveyor systems.
The sale of the business “presents the best strategic path for both Yargus Manufacturing’s and AGI’s future success and profitability and positions AGI to achieve breakthrough business results,” said Yargus.
