Cimbria has delivered a new, large intake system with pre-cleaning, drying and storage of grain for Lantmännen's new plant just outside Uppsala towards the Baltic Sea.

The drying of the grain takes place in an Eco-Logic flow dryer and with the latest version of fully automatic control. The drying room is heated without fossil fuel, however by direct electric heating, as according to Cimbria, this helps to secure an even distribution of heat in the whole dryer.

Cimbria has three similar plants under construction in Scandinavia with similar technology, and all three are ready to receive this year's harvest. Eco-Logic is designed to redirect the hottest grain to replace space with the colder and wetter grains in the drying column to obtain a uniform drying of the grain.

“This new plan enhances the possibility of further development in grain cultivation in the area. Here we have the opportunity to handle larger quantities grain, and it creates good conditions for a stronger grain business over time”, says Per Olof Nyman, Lantmännen's CEO, in a press release.

Three similar plants are on their way in the Nordic region with the same new technology:

Cimbria is actually establishing a similar facility for DLG in Vordingborg, one to Østfoldkorn, Sandefjord in Norway and another to Lantmännen in Hammenhög.

“All three plants will be ready when this year's harvest comes at the end of the summer,” says Niels Christensen, from Cimbria, who welcomes the new Nordic projects.
