Castor Maritime Inc. announces a new charter agreement

Castor Maritime Inc., a diversified global shipping company, announces that the M/V Magic Orion, a 2006 built Capesize dry bulk carrier, following completion of its current employment contract, has been fixed on a time charter contract earning a daily gross charter rate of US$39 500.

This contract is expected to commence on 3 August 2021, with a term of about 45 days.

Technology group Wärtsilä will upgrade the Wärtsilä RT-flex main engines on two bulk carrier vessels owned by Turkey-based Ulusoy Sealines. The planned engine retrofits and upgrades will extend the vessels’ operational life and improve performance and fuel efficiency, thereby reducing emissions.
