SAGO issues tender to import 360 000 t of wheat

Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO) has announced that it has issued the fifth tender for this year to import 360 000 t of wheat to be supplied during November 2021.
His Excellency SAGO’s Governor stated that the quantity specified in the tender is distributed to six shipments; two shipments to be delivered to Jeddah Islamic Port, two shipments to be delivered to Yanbu Commercial Port and two shipments to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
H.E. said that this batch of imported wheat comes within the SAGO’s plan to meet the local demand from the milling companies and maintain the strategic reserve of wheat. Noting that the Organization has contracted to import 1.7 million t since the beginning of the year, in addition to purchasing 550 000 t of local wheat from eligible farmers.
