Under the name ‘Hoge Hoed’ and for the twelfth time, the Port of Rotterdam Authority is making a €1000 donation to fifteen different regional organisations. These organisations include Basketbalvereniging Rotterdam-Zuid; Stichting Tafeltennisbelangen Xerxes; MHV Forcial; Honkbal- en softbalvereniging Zwijndrecht; Stichting BforYou; Triathlon Dordrecht; Stichting Het Speelhuis; Stichting Dance Club de Hit; Stichting Rotterdam Jazz artists Memorial; Stichting BforKids; KCC/SO Natural Capelle aan de IJssel; Stichting Voedselbank Dordrecht; Scouting de Strandvogels; Muziekkoor RYSK; and Gymnastiekvereniging Barendrecht.
With ‘Hoge Hoed’, the port authority stimulates employees to volunteer for and support social, sports and cultural projects in their spare time. Employees who do this can request port authority support. The Executive Board recently announced which fifteen employee voluntary activities and hobbies were selected randomly for a donation. This enables the port authority to reach a decision on the countless requests for support it receives from an extremely wide range of associations. In principle, only regional organisations in which employees are actively involved are eligible for support.
