A capesize bulk carrier left on 4 June 2022 from the coal seaport of Shakhtersk, carrying 165 000 t of coal for export to India.
“This is a fairly young and very promising market for us. It is now the world's second largest consumer after China. VMC is building up partnerships with large Indian buyers, including those with their own warehouses,” commented Stepan Karapetyan, Deputy General Director of the Eastern Mining Co.
This year, it is planned to increase the volume of deliveries to India, with several contracts having already been signed. The total volume of shipment under these contracts is from 2 – 2.5 million t for 2022.
