Essar Ports’ Vizag terminal achieved a record 72% increase in cargo handling in August 2020 over April 2020. Another achievement as the team continues to work very hard to service the key economic sectors. Between April - August 2020, the terminal clocked a 10% rise in cargo handling at 5.55 million t, up from 5.06 million t in same period last year.
“These green shoots in the pickup of economic activity are signalling towards our return to a robust and thriving economy, albeit in phased manner. The beginning of resumption in global demand, especially in the steel sector, has helped our Vizag terminal to score a higher cargo handling turnaround in these challenging times. This is testament of our commitment towards nation building by providing uninterrupted service that benefits the common man,” said Rajiv Agarwal, CEO & MD, Essar Ports Ltd.
