Lithuanian stevedoring company Bega has awarded a contract to Claudius Peters for the supply of silo and discharge equipment.
A specialist in the handling of dry bulk cargoes, Bega, is located at Klaipeda port and was founded in 1992.
The delivery covers a rail car unloading, a storage silo type CC for 3600 t cement and a pneumatic conveying for ship loading. The silo is equipped with a fluidisation system for the silo bottom and has a diameter of 12.5 m and a total height of 27 m.
Rail car unloading and pneumatic conveying for ship loading are designed for 200 tph.
The pneumatic conveying for ship loading is carried out by a Claudius Peters X-pump size 350, which has to overcome a distance of 148 m.
Commissioning is scheduled for September 2017. Another silo will be built at second project stage 2018 to double terminal capacity.
