DryDel offloads new ultramax bulk carrier

DryDel Shipping has been widely reported to have obtained US$36 million from the sale of the 2018-built scrubber-fitted ultramax bulk carrier Velvet.

DryDel, formerly Meadway Shipping and Trading, purchased the 62 600 DWT Oshima-built unit as Nord Baltic from Dthe Dnaish company Norden two years ago for a reported US$36.8 million.

Meadway officially launched under a new brand in February 2024 and listed 11 bulkers, including the Velvet, in its fleet, in addition to 18 chartered-in ships and 10 newbuilds set for delivery between 2024 and 2026.
