Greek shipping company Navios Maritime Partners has taken ownership of four chartered-in kamsarmax bulk carriers.
The company has exercised purchase options on the 2015-built 80 994 DWT Navios Amber, the 2016-built 84 904 DWT Navios Coral and the 2017-built 81 630 DWT Navios Citrine and Navios Dolphin.
The move is costing the diversified owner and operator of over 170 ships about US$116.6 million.
Following the acquisition of the scrubber-fitted, Japanese-built quartet, Navios Partners will own a fleet of 71 bulkers. Three modern kamsarmaxes remain on bareboat charter with purchase options, and another chartered-in unit with no purchase option attached.
