TBA has announced that Edward Yarborough has been promoted to the position of Automation Director at its Doncaster office. After joining the company in 2016 as an engineer, Yarborough went on to become Project Manager and then Engineering Manager, before accepting the new role on 1st July 2024.

TBA’s industrial automation team works with customers on major material handling projects in port operations, recycling plants, tunnelling, and plant control, with customers including Peel Ports, Port of Tilbury, Bristol Port, Brittania Metal Recycling, and PX Fairport. By their nature, these projects require high levels of risk management and require a ‘right first time’ approach, and it is an area of significant growth for the business.

Many of these projects fully integrate with TBA’s bulk terminal operating system, CommTrac, and are vital to the successful operation of the site.

“I've been with TBA Doncaster for eight years now, and it has been an incredible journey of growth and learning,” said Yarborough. “TBA has a remarkable culture that allows you to grow, make mistakes, and learn from them in a healthy way. From day one, the working environment has been positive and encouraging and all the teams are hardworking and incredibly knowledgeable.”

As part of this change at TBA Doncaster, long-standing Automation Director, Graham Allmendinger, will take a step back from new automation projects, but will remain a Director, focusing on refurb projects at several of the company’s customers’ key strategic sites.

Managing Director, David Trueman stated: “This is a fantastic development for TBA Doncaster. Edd has been a vital part of our Control Automation team, and I’m excited to see him drive our automation team and see it grow further. We also continue to receive the benefit of Graham’s vast experience, with over 26 years in the business, focused specifically where it’s needed most.”
