Board members and management representatives from the French company Senalia visited the Freeport of Riga on 29 August.

Senalia, a cereal products logistics company, operates from the Rouen Port and exports more than 60% of the entire French cereal production. The aim of the visit was to get acquainted with the cereal products market and logistics in the Baltic Sea region: export and import volumes, flows of cereal product cargoes, transhipment volumes and capacities at ports, and the future development prospects of the market.

At the Freeport of Riga Authority, representatives of Senalia met with Ansis Zeltinš, CEO, and Edgars Suna, Marketing Director. The guests were interested in various aspects of the operation of the Riga Port: land lease terms, distribution of functions between the Authority and the Port’s companies, new projects at the Port and their financing conditions. The range of interests of the French company also included the economic and political relations among the Baltic Sea region countries as well as with Russia, Ukraine and Central Asia countries. After the meeting at the Freeport of Riga Authority, the guests visited the specialised cereal products loading terminal at the Riga Port, the company Rigas ostas elevators.
