V. O. Chidambaranar Port exceeded FY16’s traffic on 36.85 million t on 17 March 2017, 2 weeks ahead of the end of financial year.
The cargo transported included coal to NTPL (64.11 %), wheat (433.61%), lime stone (8.37%), phosphoric acid (106.42%), fertilizers (16.07%), fertilizer raw materials (7.18%), construction materials (28.75%), and containerised cargo (5.02%).
